“That was actually a dare from Maria,” revealed Petrova. “She purchased them like a week ago, she said, ‘Right, if we win this tournament, we have to put them on right away on the court.’ We were already so excited last night. We stayed in separate hotels, & then putting ears on, taking pictures of ourselves & sending to each other, all excited for today”
Maria spends her birthday with her father Yuri, Nadia Petrova, Yevgeny Kafelnikov and coach Jimy Szymanski.
